U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger will be the guest speaker for the annual fall luncheon of the Iroquois County Republican Women's Club in Watseka. The 12 Noon program is Monday, October 17, at Celebrations.
Kinzinger is a three-term congressman, representing the 16th Congressional District for four years. His district stretches from Iroquois, Ford and Livingston counties north to the Wisconsin state line. Locally, it also includes Grundy and southwest Will County.
Kinzinger recently was named Republican House whip. He serves on the energy and commerce committee and previously served on the foreign affairs committee.
His only opponent for re-election this year is a write-in candidate, John F. Bouchard, who has said he objects to Kinzinger's failure to support Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
