A busy Labor Day weekend finds several communities hosting events that bring the summer to a close. Labor Day parades are scheduled in Herscher, Danville and Westville.  The parades coincide with weekend events in respective communities.  Herscher's 103rd Labor Day Cemebration includes a 3-day line-up of fun, Saturday, Sunday and Labor Day Monday.  The Herscher Chamber of Commerce helps coordinate the events. Monday's 10:30 am parade recognizes Dennis Pankey as Grand Marshal. 

Hoopeston is hosting the annual National Sweecorn Festival, included is the Sweetheart Pageant at McFerrin Park. Free sweet corn is served all weekend long.  And a prade is set for 10:30 Saturday morning.  The Hoopeston Jaycees sponsor the Labor Day weekend attraction.

Earl Park, Indiana welclomes visitors to the annul Earl Park Fall Festival.  A parade thru the park is always a big hi-lite.  Several vendors and musical enterrtainment is part of the fun.

Labor Day parades are on tap in Danville and Westville in Vermilion County.  Danville's parade features for former Quaker Oats employees as grand marshals.  The AFL-CIO sponsors the tribute to American workers.

Kankakee is welcoming back the national boat races.  The Kankakee River Valley Regatta is today, Saturday and Sunday.  Popular speed boat racing on the Kankakee River includes attractions in-and-around the River Road Sports Complex.  Arts and Craft Vendors, Food Trucks, Beer Garden, Kids Zone and Musical entertainment are all included.
