Lady Raiders capture Sectional crown

                   Super-Sectional date Monday

Iroquois West Girls coach Kristy Arie's squad put the underdog role on hold and turned in a game that won't be soon forgotten.

The Lady Raiders won their own 1A Sectional Championship Thursday night, knocking off 4th ranked Cissna Park 50-44. The Raider win avenged a loss to Cissna Park last season.

And the now 27-3 Iroquois West team advances to Monday's 1A Super-Sectional match against Harvest Christian Academy at Lewis University.

The heroic efforts of Grace Schroeder was the difference in the game. She poured in a game-high 29 points and her defense drew foul number five against Cissna Park standout Addison Stoller with 1:31 left to go. The absence of Stoller just about shut the door on any Timberwolves' comeback.

Irish win 2A Sectional:

Bishop McNamara's 50-33 win over Putnam County at Spring Valley gave the Irish a sectional title. They advance to Super-Sectional play Monday at Monmouth College vs. Havana. The Fightin' Irish are 26-4.

Lady Boilers fall in Regional play:

Bradley-Bourbonnais lost a 3-point game to Normal West, 46-43, in the 4A Regional at Danville.
