Lake County Fair in Indiana canceled for 2020

Organizers of the Lake County Fair at Crown Point, IN have announced this summer's fair is canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Fair president said the cancellation is in the best interests of the public's safety.

Warren County Fair to See Major Changes

This summer's Warren County, Indiana fair at Williamsport will see some major changes because of the COVID-19 pandemic. All projects will be submitted virtually, and animal shows will be ‘show and go’ instead of leaving the animals on display. There will also be no carnival or special shows, and no commercial exhibits.

The Queen Contest will be held, but the board decided it will be a private affair by invitation only. And contestants will have to wear masks.

The board also decided there will still be food available during fair week – scheduled July 6th-11th – but carry-outs from the food booth will only be available on two nights.

In past years the Warren County Fair, which is run in cooperation with the Purdue University Extension Office, has even included hot air ballooning. The fair was originally scheduled June 9th through 13th but was pushed back in hopes that more activities could be held in July.
