A farm tractor and a semi collided in Newton County, IN Thursday, sending one person to Riversde Hospital in Kankakee. Sheriff’s Police are investigating.

Deputies responded about 7:30 am to north of CR 1150 N. on US 41 . A Mack Semi Truck driven by a 35 year old male from Orland Park, IL, was northbound US 41 when he failed to slow down or move to the left most lane to avoid a collision with a slow moving farm tractor.

The Farmall tractor was driven by 51-year-old Daniel Nelson of Lake Village, IN. Nelson was transported to Riverside Hospital after being ejected from his tractor.

Newton County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Newton County EMS, Lake Township FD, Indiana Conservation and Newton County EMA.
