Lawmakers head back to Springfield...

TEACHER LAW ---

Gov. Bruce Rauner signed a bill Friday that loosens restrictions on teachers with licenses from other states to teach in Illinois. Rauner said Friday that the state’s licensing process was prohibitively burdensome. Districts around the state are dealing with teacher shortages in certain subjects.

LAWMAKERS RETURNING ---

Lawmakers will return to Springfield this week after a spring primary. The state's budget will have to be hammered out between Democrats that control the General Assembly and Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner by the end of May. The state is currently more than $8 billion behind in its unpaid bills.
