There is a push to allow cities and towns in Illinois to conduct business remotely at any time. Currently, the governor or the state health department must issue an emergency proclamation before a government body can conduct any business remotely. The Illinois Municipal League is urging lawmakers to pass legislation to allow the change during the fall veto session, which begins next week.
