The Illinois Department of Public Health is marking Lead Poisoning Prevention Week, Oct. 19-25, by urging parents and caregivers to understand and prevent lead exposure in children. Illinois continues expanding childhood lead testing, moving toward universal screening by 2026.  Lead Poisoning Prevention Week runs thru Saturday 10/25.
