Livingston County Sheriff Tony Childress grabs GOP primary win

Incumbent Tony Childress has won the Republican nomination for Livingston County sheriff. He defeated former Fairbury Police Chief Jack Wiser.

The Livingston County records show Childress received 3,075 votes, while Wiser finished with 1,857 votes.
No Democrat filed so Childress likely will be unopposed in November.

Childress started with the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department as a patrol deputy in 1991 and was elected sheriff in 2014 after a four-way race in the GOP primary in which Wiser finished second.
