Rain, but no significant snow overnight in the WGFA/WIBK listening area. The snowfall accumulated in the Chicagoland area making for a messy morning commute.
High winds brought down trees, but no serious damage or injury was reported --- from last night’s weather event.
Windows were blown out at a few locations. The Kankakee area had high winds and a few structures damaged. Other communities reported power outages.
The Chicagoland area was under a Blizzard Warning where snowfall amounts ranged from just a couple inches to 11+ inches at Rockford. The Quincy area, along the Mississippi River, had a mess to clean up. Several inches of snow were reported.
Forecasters were expecting up to another two inches today. High winds and dropping temps are in today’s forecast.
