Thirty-six year-old Ron Campe Jr. faces an aggravated arson charge for Monday night's fire that did extensive damage to a restaurant and apartment building in Loda.
Bond was set at $100,000 for the Loda man, who police said, is the grandson of the building's owner, Linda Bogard. Campe was arrested for aggravated arson after an investigation by Iroquois County Sheriff' Investigators and the State Fire Marshall.
A damage estimate on the fire wasn't available. But Loda Fire Chief Harold Ecker said the fire was suspicious in nature. The blaze broke out just before 10 pm. There was extensive damage to the Owl's Nest restaurant and the apartments on the back-side. No injuries were reported.
Fire departments from Thawville, Buckley, Cissna Park, Paxton, Roberts and Melvin were on the scene until early Tuesday morning.
