Loda Village Board yet to fill vacancies

Two trustee seats remain vacant on the Loda Village Board. And – it appears they'll remain that way until Board President Carol Arseneau finds the right people.

The Illinois Municipal League is OK with the vacancies, so long as there's an effort continuing to seek candidates. The president or mayor has 60 days to fill a vacancy but that legal-limit can be extended so long as there is an effort to find candidates.

One of the trustee seats is that of Arseneau's who resigned to accept the Village Board Presidency seat. She's filling the term of Ron Dudley, who resigned. Arseneau will serve as president thru April 2017.

The other trustee vacancy is that of Jeff Johnson, who also resigned four months ago.
