A Lowell-area man suspected in the death of his parents last fall has been returned to Indiana.

34-year-old Thomas Snow is jailed in Newton County. He's charged with armed robbery charge following his extradition from Minnesota -- where he was arrested as a fugitive in October.

Lake County prosecutors are preparing to file homicide charges against the man in Lake Criminal Court in connection with the deaths of 66-year-old Joyce Snow and 68-year-old Clifford Snow.

The victims' decomposed bodies were found October 18 in their home, west of Lowell.

The Lake County coroner said they died of blunt force trauma and strangulation. The time of their death is under investigation. Lake County authorities said in October they found many days of unread newspapers outside the house when they were called there to investigate the victims' well-being.

Police tracked Snow, who had been living at the house, to Minnesota through cellphone records and his parents' credit card activity. Minnesota police stopped him after a brief chase.

Minnesota's Clay County Attorney Brian J. Melton said Tuesday he decided earlier this month to dismiss several traffic charges related to Snow's attempts to flee local police.

The robbery charges in Newton County arise from allegations Snow walked into Boseman's Marathon service station at E. Indiana State Road 10 about 6:30 pm., October 17, threatened to shoot employees and demanded all the money in the cash registers.

Newton County Prosecutor Jeff Drinski said in October he would be asking that Snow be held without bond, arguing that Snow is a flight risk.

Lake County authorities are also is working with the Newton County authorities to make sure Snow he is held for potential charges.
