A veteran members of the Kankakee Police Department steps aside today (Friday) to become the new police chief for the Village of St. Anne.
Kankakee Police Lt. Dave Skelly begins his new position in St. Anne May 1, according to St. Anne Mayor Dave O’Connell. Skelly was one of eight applicants for the St. Anne job. St. Anne has a 3-person full-time staff for law enforcement. There’s also three part-time officers.
Skelly was also a finalist for the Kankakee Police Chief position, which was just recently filled by retired Bensenville Police Chief Frank Kosman. Mayor Chasity Wells-Armstrong made that choice and still waits for approval from the Kankakee City Council.
Skelly has a varied background, serving in several commander and investigative law enforcement positions.
