A 28-year-old man is dead after he jumped from the Schuyler Avenue bridge this (Friday) morning. The Kankakee County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Deangelo Shelby of Kankakee. Fire personnel reported the man was pulled from the Kankakee River shortly before noon after he jumped into the water around 10 am. The fire department search team recovered the man. He died at a local hospital.
