A man has pleaded guilty to hitting and killing a police officer on I-55. Jason Collins made the plea in court Monday.

He reportedly spent five hours at a bar in Bloomington before getting behind the wheel drunk and slamming into a police SUV last October. Officer Casey Kohlmeier and his K-9 officer were inside the vehicle, which was sitting in the median near Pontiac. Both officers were killed.

Collins faces up to 14-years behind bars and will be sentenced on October 15th. {Metro News}
