A two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon on 9000N Road west of Manteno critically injured three people.
A semi carrying supplies for a pipeline project collided with an SUV at 5000W Road around 2 pm.
All three people were in critical condition and had to be extricated from their vehicles, including a man and a woman in the SUV.
Manteno Fire Chief Scott O'Brien said the semi was flipped upside down. O'Brien reported a ComEd crew arrived within 15 minutes to cut the power to a pole that was snapped and hanging over the truck.
Emergency personnel from WIlmington, Bourbonnais and Peotone assisted Manteno.
According to O'Brien, it was the second two-vehicle accident at the intersection in 24 hours.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
