Michigan-based Dawn Foods is cutting 40 percent of its 91-member workforce at its Manteno facility. Thirty-seven jobs will be eliminated from the Diversatech campus at the end of the month.
A news release issued this week (Wednesday) states the layoffs are effective January 29.
The company adds, it will continue to pursue new business opportunities for the facility.
Dawn Foods has about 4,000 employees worldwide. The company is one of the world's largest full-service, family-owned baking industry manufacturers and suppliers. The company has operated in the Manteno business park since 2007.
