Manteno police have identified an 83-year-old man hit by an Amtrak train (Thursday) afternoon. Howard Blogg of Manteno was killed when hit by the northbound train. Police reported he was on the Canadian National Railway line when the train passed thru at 12:42 pm. The incident occurred at Adams and Oak Street in Manteno.

The Kankakee County Coroner's Office is investigating. Other emergency response teams were at the scene.
