A 57-year-old man Manteno is under arrest facing charges for allegedly trying to lure four children to his home Saturday. Manteno Police report Norman Tibbs is alleged to have offered the children candy and pizza to come to his home.

Tibbs faces attempted child abduction and disorderly conduct charges. Police said Tibbs has no prior record.
The alleged attempted child abduction occurred in an alleyway just east of Illinois Route 50.

Police reports indicated a neighbor approached Tibbs and the children. He introduced himself and asked Tibbs if he was the children's father. Tibbs turned and walked the other way. Police caught up with him hours later at a bar.
