The Manteno American Legion is hosting the WWII Memorial Model Sunday. Legion Post #755 has planned an unveiling of original model of the National World War II Memorial. The event is set for 1 pm at the Manteno Sportsmen's Club.

The Manteno visit is the final leg of an Illinois statewide tour. The memorial will be headed back to the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C.

Manteno Legion Commander Bill Cushman said American Legion members from across the state have been invited to Sunday's event.
