The discovery of a marijuana-growing operation in Martinton has resulted in indictments. The Iroquois County grand jury returned with charges against 31-year-old John Craycraft of Beaverville. He was arrested in June when police found 114 cannabis plants at a residence. Craycraft was arrested for Unlawful Production of Cannabis Plants.
KAMEG and Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police were involved in the investigation.
Sheriff’s Police later arrested 48-year-old Michael Miller of Martinton. He was charged with Unlawful Production of Cannabis plants. Police found 16 plants at a Martinton residence.
Sixteen defendants were named in indictments returned by the grand jury August 1st.
- 19-year-old Ricardo Guardiola of Sheldon was indicted for Unlawful Possession of Cannabis. He was arrested by KAMEG with more than 30 grams in his possession.
- 32-year-old Wendy Stone of Goodland, IN was arrested by KAMEG. She was in possession of between 30 – 500 grams of cannabis. She was indicted for Unlawful Possession with intent to deliver.
- A Danville man was also arrested by KAMEG. 23-year-old Jaremy Sims faces indictment for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance WITHIN 1,000 feet of a public park. Sims was also charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon. Sims was reported to be in possession of cocaine and a 9 mm handgun.
