The cause of a garage fire in rural Martinton was under investigation today. The structure fire was reported at 10:40 Monday night. The call alerted a half-dozen departments to 2429 N and 2320 E Road in Iroquois County. Firemen were at the scene until 1 am today. No injury was reported.
Martinton Fire Chief Jim Seabert said his department found the structure fully-involved. Firemen were able to extinguish the flames before there was any damage a houe just a few feet from the garage.
Mutual aid was provided by firefighters from Donovan, Papineau, Beaverville, Concord, Watseka, St. Anne and IMH Ambulance personnel.
