Student-athletes competing in some sports won’t have to wear masks. The Illinois High School Association announced state public officials are no longer requiring masks for student-athletes actively playing low-risk sports like fishing, baseball, softball, tennis and track and field. Athletes not competing must continue to wear masks, as do officials. COVID-19 testing is recommended for students in high-risk sports like football, lacrosse and wrestling.
