Master Showman is Cy Cook at Iroquois County Fair

Cy Cook’s effort at the Iroquois County Fair earned him the Master Showman Award Sunday. The judging awarded the 16-year-old the top aware among the presenters of six categories.

Cook was the winner of the Goat Division and advanced to handle the animals in other 4-H categories to earn the buckle presented/sponsored by 94.1 WGFA and 96.9 WIBK, the Buckle.

Cook is a member of the Danforth Blue Ribbon club. He’s been a 4-H member for seven years and will be a junior at Iroquois West.

Cy is anxious to advance to state in what he calls a “highly competitive competition.

He’s shows in other states and at nationals in Nebraska for ABGA. He shows at the Illinois State Fair and has won showmanship at state.

Cy is the son of Todd and Katana Cook.

The runner up in the county’s competition was E.N. Hanson. He won showman in the Sheep division. He represents the Milks Grove Challengers 4-H club.

Miles Price was the master showman of dairy.
Abigail Wagner was the master showman for the Beef division.

Tyler Fanning was the swine master showman.

Grace Poskin, a member of the Ashkum Go-Getters 4-H Club, was the master showman of horses.
