Deadlocked votes by city aldermen in Watseka last night forced Mayor Bob Harwood to break the ties. And his Yes votes gave two-percent pay hikes to Police Chief Roger Lebeck and Public Works Director Marvin DeLahr

Proposed pay increases were on the table for the two officials.  Aldermen Chuck Garfield, Mike Warren and L.D. Smith voted against the increases, while aldermen Bill Nutter, Mike Marcier and Marvin Purvis voted in favor.  

The City Council did approve two-percent pay hikes for Administrative Clerk Kathy Kosik, Code Enforcement officer Stan Molter and city employee Sonny Brammer.
