A death investigation in Florida involves the body of a 19-year-old graduate from Bishop McNamara High School in Kankakee. Graham McGrath, a 2021 Bishop McNamara Catholic grad was recovered Thursday from a lake near Florida Gulf Coast University.

Florida authorities report McGrath fell overboard off a boat Wednesday evening. He was one of 13 people onboard, according to news reports.

What happened is under investigation. The Lee County (FLA) sheriff’s office reports the body showed no sign of trauma. Foul play hasn’t been ruled out. The sheriff investigators said McGrath was the only student onboard the boat.

Grief counselors have been made available at FGCU and at Mac.
