A rural Melvin woman died from injuries received in a two-vehicle crash north of Melvin Wednesday.

Ford County Coroner Doug Wallace said 58-year-old Kitty Mullins was pronounced dead at 10:45 am at Gibson Area Hospital in Gibson City.

The accident occurred at 9:21 am north of Melvin at the intersection of Ford County roads 1300 North and l100 East.
The Ford County Sheriff's Office reported Mullins was southbond on 1100 East when her SUV was struck by a westbound car t hat failed to yield. Mullins was ejected from the vehicle, while the driver of the car was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated.

Both drivers were transported to Gibson Area Hospital.
