Weapons charges against a Tennessee man after shots fired at another vehicle on I-57 near Gilman. 31-year-old Dieon Kerr was arrested by Illinois State Police after a motorist reported his car was shot at while he drove Friday afternoon on the interstate. The victim told dispatchers a man in a black Nissan pointed a gun at his car and fired at least one shot. No one was injured. Troopers located the suspect-car at a gas station off the exit at Bourbonnais Parkway. A female passenger and a child were in the car. Polcie also located a loaded gun in the vehicle. Kerr was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon, child endangerment and driving with a suspended license. Kerr was jailed in Iroquois County.
The female passenger, Jessica Fields of Memphis, TN was also charged with child endangerment.
