Watseka attorney Michael Sabol will serve the 21st Judicial Circuit as its news Associate Judge.
The Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts announced (Tuesday) Sabol will fill a vacancy on the bench. He fills the vacancy created with the recent retirement of Judge Gordon Lustfeldt.
A swearing-in date hasn’t been set yet.
Sabol is the second attorney in recent weeks to be appointed the bench in the circuit. J. Imani Drew was recently sworn-in to serve Kankakee County as an Associate Judge.
Sabol is in private practice with the law firm Godin, Denton & Elliott in Momence. He’s also worked as an Iroquois County Public Defender since 2006. Prior to working in private practice, Sabol was employed in the Iroquois County State’s Attorney’s office.
