Sheriff’s Police and the Iroquois County Coroner are involved in a death investigation following a house fire in rural Milford Tuesday afternoon.

Coroner Bill Cheatum said an autopsy completed (Wed) reveals “there was no foul play” in the death of 65-year-old Casandra Walts. The woman’s home at 1874E and 650 N Road (near Goodwine) was discovered engulfed in flames just after 1 pm.

Cissna Park, Milford and Wellington Fire responded to the emergency call after a sheriff deputy found the house engulfed.
