A 51-year-old Milford man died in a single-car crash early Saturday. Kevin Perkins was found unresponsive in his overturned car in northwestern Vermilion County.

Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup pronounced Perkins dead at 6:15 am at Carle Hospital in Urbana.

Illinois State Police at Pesotum report Perkins was southbound on Illinois 49, about five miles north of Armstrong, just after 4 a.m. when his car left the road.

Police said he overcorrected and went off the road again and into the opposite ditch. The car overturned and came to rest on its side.

Police said he was not wearing a seatbelt.

The death is being investigated by the Coroner’s office and state police.
