The towns of Milford and Oakwood are in line to benefit from some Illinois Community Development Assistance Grants. Governor Pat Quinn says nearly $19-million dollars in federal funding will address infrastructure needs in 59 small and rural communities.
Milford will get $350-thousand dollars for a new storm water system.
Oakwood is receiving a $264-thousand dollar grant for a water main replacement project.
The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity administers Illinois’ CDAP program, providing federal funding for a variety of community-based projects. The program is known nationally as the Community Development Block Grant program.
