A retired school superintendent, with ties to the local area, will serve Watseka Unit Nine as its interim school leader.
Gary Miller was approved by the Unit #9 school board. Miller had spent 32 years in education, most recently at Momence where he retired as superintendent two years ago.
The Unit 9 Board will continue its search for a permanent superintendent. Miller’s hiring relieves James Bunting again, who just last week, agreed to serve as interim-super while the search for a permanent replacement continues. Bunting serves the district as principal at the Glenn Raymond School. He also served as Unit Nine Sup’t in the past.
