Miss Iroquois County Fair, Lyndsey Neukomm; Talent contestants, among state’s best

Iroquois County Fair Queen Lyndsey Neukomm was ranked among the top 15 queen contestants in state competition over the weekend. Judges selected her among the best at the Illinois county Fair Queen Pageant in Springfield.

The Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs Convention also area talent show winners from last year’s county fairs compete.

Lyndsey was one 71 county queens on stage in Springfield. She’s the daughter of Walt Neukomm and Charlene Neukomm of Cissna Park.

Also competing was Kaiti Zbinden of Gibson City, the 2018 Ford County Fair Queen.

The new Miss Illinois County Fair Queen is Alexi Bladel, representing Winnebago County.

Miss Illinois State Fair 2018, Samantha Hasselbring of Cissna Park, crowned the new state fair queen.

Iroquois County was well-represented in the state talent show too. Young ladies who won the junior competition at the Iroquois County Fair last July earned an 8th place finish at state. They were students at Studio on Main in Watseka. They danced to “Better When I’m Dancin. ”

Alexis Krones of Watseka, also from Studio on Main, placed second in the senior division with her dance to “Body Love”. Ellaine Hibbert, also from Studio on Main in Watseka, placed fifth in the senior division with her dance to “This is Our Time”. Miss Hibbert represented the Georgetown Fair.

A Ford County talent winner, Madalyn Schmitt, earned first place in the senior division.
