Sheriff’s Police in Kankakee and Will Counties continue their investigation into the death of a young Mokena woman, reported missing, and found today (Thursday) in rural St. Anne.
24-year-old Kaitlyn Kearns was found in her Jeep She suffered a single gunshot wound to her head, according to Kankakee County Coroner Bob Gessner. The coroner’s office and police continue to investigate as to what connection the victim may have had with the local area.
The death is being handled as a homicide.
Kaitlyn Kearns was reported missing by her father Tuesday afternoon. Will County Sheriff’s reported she was last seen Monday about 1:30 am when she left her job at Woody’s bar in Joliet.
