Mitchell Meenen of Melvin was recently elected as a member the Ford County Fair Board. Meenen had previously served as a junior director on the board. He joins Dave Kaeding, Loda; Vera Bunting, Gibson City, and Tim Muehlenpfort, Melvin; who were re-elected as directors on the board.

Additional board members include Dallas Meyer, Thawville; Steve Meenen, Melvin; Roger Wycoff, Piper City; Caity Heap and Ella Herges, Gibson City, Theresa Rueck and Wade Rueck, Roberts; and Kirk Miller, Melvin. Spencer Meenan, Melvin, was selected to join the board as a junior director.

At its January 16 meeting, the Fair Board recognized Leanne Wright, Gibson City, for her years of service to the board.
Kirk Miller was re-elected as board president with Meyer re-elected as vice-president. Other officers re-elected include Heap as secretary and Rueck as treasurer.

This year’s fair is scheduled for June 13-19. Favorite events from previous years will be scheduled again including the demo derby and a concert. Details on all events will be posted on the fair’s website, www.fordcountyfair.org, as the fair dates approach. Information will also be posted on the fair’s Facebook page.
