Finding the means to lessen the impact of natural hazards is the focus of a hazard mitigation meeting in Watseka next week. The Iroquois County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) will host the second meeting for renewal of the County Hazard Mitigation Plan.
The meeting is Tuesday, July 12, at 1 pm at the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) at the Iroquois County Courthouse.
The county-wide mitigation plan addresses natural hazards, including tornadoes, floods, and blizzards, which impact Iroquois County. The focus is to develop long-term proposals on how to lessen the severity of these hazards in the communities.
This is the second meeting in the process to renew the Hazard Mitigation Plan. The public is welcome to attend. Local elected and appointed officials are encouraged to participate in the meetings to establish long-term plans and cooperation across Iroquois County.
