A jeep collided with a Kenworth truck-tractor Monday in Kankakee County, severely injuring the Jeep’s driver. 20-year-old Zachary Gonzalez of Monee suffered life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Provena St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee.

The driver of the truck tractor...57-year-old Jack Spurgeon of Brook, Indiana...was not injured, according to a Illinois State Police report.

Police reported the Jeep was eastbound on Kankakee County Road 12000 N, approaching the Route 1 intersection. The jeep’s driver did not stop at the stop sign. He collided with the northbound truck.
