More ARPA Funds to Benefit Iroquois County

The Iroquois County Board  (Tuesday) approved resolutions that assist a handful of agencies in their efforts to rebound from the COVID pandemic. The local American Rescue Plan Act committee reviewed several more applications that seek a share of the $5.2 million allocated to Iroquois County.

Cissna Park's Country Theatre Workshop will receive $57, 143 initially, to assist in paying off a loan for mold remediation.  Representatives of the Theatre had requested $342,300 for loss of revenue from the COVID pandemic.

The Chebanse Civic Civic Center applied for $49,999 for roof replacement.  The ARPA committee approved $47,875.

The Chebanse Community Building is also remodeling restrooms to make them ADA accessible.

The Township of Beaverville was approved for $108,993 for a cold storage building.  The township's application was seeking $141, 376.

Ashkum Township applied for $176,000 for a drainage system, HVAC system upgrade, for loss of revenue and building repairs. The committee approved $88, 370.
