Heavy rain, thunder and lightning greeted many people early today (Tuesday).  And the NWS says another round of severe storms is possible across central Illinois later Tuesday.
Some roads were ponding earlier today when more than an inch of rain fell overnight and this morning. Scattered showers and storms today may lead to severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. The NWS points to damaging winds, large hail, and tornadoes are possible.  Most of these storms will be between 2-7 p.m., but that timeline is not a guarantee.
