A light snowfall Sunday night leaves area roadways slick again today. And a few accidents have resulted.

Transportation officials report scattered slick spots for the Monday morning commute in most of Central Illinois.

The Illinois Department of Transportation reports scattered slick spots on many highways and roads. Motorists are urged to use caution. IDOT maps indicate roads are snow or ice-covered for areas along I-57, I-55 and U-S 41 and I-65 in Indiana.

More snow showers are possible for later Monday afternoon. The high will be 26 degrees with wind chill values between 4 and 14 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Warmer temperatures are in the forecast for Tuesday, with sunny skies and a high of 31 degrees. The temperatures are expected to finally rise above the freezing mark on Wednesday, when the high reaches 38 degrees.
