The driver of a motorcycle was taken to a Lafayette area hospital after hitting a deer Wednesday evening.

The unidentified male driver was driving westbound on State Road 18 just outside of Brookston when he hit the deer around 9:45 p.m.

The extent of the driver's injuries are unknown at this time. The crash remains under investigation by the White County Sheriff's Office.
