The Prosecutor's office in Lake County, Indiana filed murder and aggravated battery charges over Tuesday's fatal stabbing of a Cedar Lake high school senior.

19-year-old Tyler McAfee of Lansing (IL) is named in the two felony counts filed alleging he killed 17-year-old Alton Bradley and wounding 18-year-old Matthew Smolek of Cedar Lake. McAfee is being held without bond in the Lake County Jail.

The prosecutor alleges McAfee committed an unprovoked attack on the victims and bragged he belonged to a Gary street gang. But McAfee told police he wielded the knife in self-defense.
