Murder convict freed from prison after Innocence Project Involvement

A Central Illinois man is free from prison after serving nearly 20 years of a 55-year sentence. Teshome Campbell was freed Friday after the Champaign County state's attorney declined to retry him for the 1998 murder of 44-year-old James Shepherd of Urbana. The Illinois Innocence Project worked on Campbell's case. {Metro News}
