A high-speed chase with Colorado State Police results in the death of a double-murder suspect wanted in Iroquois County. 43-year-old Matthew Borden of Melvin is dead. Colorado State Police report Borden was found dead near his vehicle after he fired shots at police Sunday. Borden was driving a stolen vehicle from Dexter, Iowa when he fled from state troopers in Colorado. Borden was wanted for two murders in Iroquois County this past weekend.
The Colorado State Police is working with Iroquois County authoritzies and the U.S. Marshal's Service as they investigate the homicides.
Borden was wanted an a $2-million dollar warrant for the murders of Pamela Williams of Martinton and Brian Musk of Milford.
Borden allegedly fired at officers after crashing his vehicle north of Pierce, CO on U.S. Route 85. Borden was found dead next to his vehicle, according to police.
