NAACP hosting Candidates Forum in Kankakee

Leading up to the February Primary Election in the city of Kankakee, the local chapter of the NAACP invites the public to hear from the candidates.  A series of  forums are at the Kankakee City Library will feature mayoral and aldermanic races and the contest for city clerk. The NAACP Facebook page will welcome the public via Zoom.  The Library YouTube site will also broadcast the events.

Today (Tuesday), the 5:30 pm forum features City Clerk candidates Lashaan Lott and Stacy Gall.   Beginning at 6:30 pm, 2nd and 6th Ward Alderman contests are featured.  David Baron and Lisa Richardson vie for the 2nd Ward seat while Kelly Johnson and Yaquantis Adams seek the 6th Ward seat.

Thursday evening, the Democratic and Republican Mayoral candidates meet.  At 5:30 pm Incumbent Mayor Chasity Wells-Armstrong and Angela Shea will discuss issues while the Republican candidates meet at 6:45, Alfred "J.J." Hollis and Chris Curtis.
