The Fall harvest is getting started.  Combines and other slow-moving ag equipment will be common on rural routes.  Motorists will need to slow down and be aware of the slower moving farm vehicles.  

This is Farm Safety Week.  The Illinois Department of Agriculture and Labor remind all farm workers to stay safe, especially during the busy harvest season. This year's theme is "Protecting Ag's Future."  Data from the U.S. Department of Labor shows the agriculture sector is one of the most dangerous in America.  Each year the farming profession experiences 500 fatlities nationwide.
