Two COVID vaccination events are planned in Kankakee County with the National Guard assisting local officials. The Illinois Department of Public Health will team with the Guard. Vaccination sites will be staged in Pembroke Township and at Kankakee Community College.

A mass vaccination is planned at the Pembroke Fellowship Monday 4/5 9am – 6 pm. And then Monday 4/5 and Tuesday 4/6 9 am – 6 pm. The vaccine is for everyone eligible, including healthcare workers, long-term care providers, facility patients and workers. Frontline workers are also included – first-responders, teachers, those over 65, essential workers (incl postal and grocery store employees, government workers, manufacturing, construction, restaurant workers, media and religious leaders. Also included are those with high-risk medical conditions.
