It’s a nationwide effort – to bring police closer to the community. And police in departments in Kankakee, Bradley, Bourbonnais, Danville and Champaign will be involved.

National ‘Night Out’ finds several police agencies staging events to increase anti-crime awareness.

Perry Farm in Bourbonnais is hosting the Kankakee-area event. Bradley Police is the host. Several area departments will have representatives on hand.

Organizers say over 3,000 hot dogs will be served. The Silhouettes will be part of the entertainment. A fireworks show is included. There’s games for kids. It’s free and open to everyone.

It all starts at 4 pm.
